Applying for a Reception Place
All applications for a Reception place are made through your home Local Authority.
- If you live in Medway, you should complete the Medway Reception Common Application Form (RCAF) via the Medway Council website.
- If you live outside Medway, please apply through your own Local Authority.
If your child’s date of birth is between 1st September 2021 and 31st August 2022, they will be due to start primary school in September 2026.
🗓 Key dates for September 2026 entry:
- Applications open: 1st September 2025
- Application deadline: 15th January 2026
- National Offer Day: 16th April 2026
Supplementary Information Form (SIF)
In addition to your Local Authority application, families applying under our admissions criteria are asked to complete a Supplementary Information Form (SIF). You can find a copy of this at the bottom of this page.
This helps us ensure that your application is considered correctly. Completed forms, along with any supporting documents (such as baptism certificates where applicable), should be returned directly to the school. Any supporting documentation must be provided to the school by the closing date. Not doing so may lead to your child being placed in a lower priority category than they should be. If you are not offered a place and submit an appeal, a copy of the form will be submitted to the Appeal Panel.
If you are unsure about any part of the process, please contact us—we are always happy to help.
Supporting Documents
To guide you through your application, the following documents are available at the bottom of this page:
- Admissions Arrangements
- Supplementary Information Form (SIF)
Please note: failure to submit a completed Supplementary Information Form (SIF) when applying for a Catholic school place may result in your application not being placed in the correct category. This could result in you not receiving an offer of a place.

Admission Appeals

If your child has not been offered a place at our school, you have the legal right to appeal this decision to an independent appeal panel that is separate from the school and admission authority. To submit an appeal, please complete the appeal form and return it to the school office. Please include any supporting evidence that you wish the panel to consider as part of your appeal.
If you have not been successful in securing a place at English Martyrs' RC Primary School and would like to appeal the decision, please take note of the dates shown below:
